‍Tell us about your company and what you do.‍

We are Class 101 the largest College Planning service provider in the nation helping the students find and afford the right college for the past 24 years. Our mission is to provide families expert guidance in the college search, admissions and financial aid process. We provide a full range of services starting from developing college list, visiting colleges, ACT / SAT Test Prep, upgrading the resume, crafting college essays, managing college applications and deadlines, exploring scholarship opportunities, FAFSA, career guidance, and transitioning to colleges. We serve students starting from 8th graders to high school seniors. Our service is of high quality that is customized to each individual student giving them one on one counseling and guidance involving both the parents and the student. Apart from that we provide free one hour consultation for everyone. We conduct regular Free Community ACT / SAT Practice tests and give a comprehensive report which clearly indicates the areas to be improved. We are happy to work with the schools and community organizations to provide the information to the people in order to make them understand the college planning process.

‍How did you get started in your industry?

‍We both had been through the college planning process for our children a few years ago. We realized how complex the process is and there is none in the Triangle Area to provide a comprehensive service in College Planning. So we decided to start this College Planning service to empower students, serve families, and inspire greatness.

‍What is something about your business that most people do not know?

‍Most high school students and their parents are unaware about how overwhelming the College Planning process can be. It is a very complex, multi-year process. It is hard to know where to begin. Class 101 is here to make College Planning simple and help you connect the dots.

‍Where do you see your business in 5 years?

‍In the next few years, we see ourselves as a major education partner playing a major role in helping the students find their right future.

‍Tell me about yourself.

‍Fatima Kalanjiam:  I am Fatima Kalanjiam, we moved from Ohio in 2017 with our 3 kids and my Parents, and we just love it here. We currently live in Apex, My older daughter is a Sophomore in UNC Chapel hill and my 2 younger kids are in wcpss magnet schools. I have been a Project manager by Profession leading multi million dollar projects for the US Airforce and later leading projects in MetLife.

Moomina: I am Moomina Sideek, a long time resident of Morrisville. I live with my husband and my three daughters. Apart from being a Software Professional almost a decade and half, I am also a Girl Scout Troop Leader, and a Public Speaker. The pandemic situation had made me introspect about my priorities in life. I decided to become a College Planner who can make a difference in the life of young students.

‍Other than work, what are you passionate about?

‍Fatima Kalanjiam - I am passionate about learning whether it is for work, something for my kids or now recently with everything that has to do with College Planning.

Moomina: I am passionate about learning new things. My burning desire is to be an effective parent, entrepreneur, and a Philanthropist.

‍What types of activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?

‍Fatima Kalanjiam:  Me and my husband are avid gardeners, I enjoy cooking international cuisine for my family using the produce we grow in our garden. We also love traveling as a family.

Moomina: I am an avid reader, a creative writer, calligrapher, mentor and a motivational speaker. Being a Toastmaster had made me develop a growth mindset to improve my emotional intelligence. Currently pursuing Motivational Strategies and Effective Coaching as my Toastmaster Pathways which had improved me connecting with my students and their parents. I have been part of several debates in various media and have hosted several programs. I love connecting with people and also a member of BNI.
